Numerous ski touring peaks in the Silvretta can be optimally reached from the Wiesbadener Hütte. The tours are quite demanding. Time and again, rock passages up to the II degree of difficulty have to be mastered. The highlight of the ski tour weekend will be the Ski tour on the Piz Buin an. At 3312 m, the Great Piz Buin is the highest peak in Vorarlberg. The Piz Buin ski tour is one of the most beautiful ski tours in Austria.
Programme Ski Touring Weekend Silvretta
Meeting point on day 1: 09:00 h Partenen valley station Vermuntbahn
Equipment check & discussion of the following tour days. Afterwards, joint ascent to the Bielerhöhe and taxi transfer to the Silvrettastausee. From there ascent through the Biel valley to the Wiesbadener Hütte.

Alternative: Meeting point in the afternoon and ascent through the Ochsental to the Wiesbadener Hütte. 500 hm ascent and approx. 2:30 walking time
Ski Tour Dreiländerspitze, 3197 m
Conditions permitting, we head for another challenging Silvretta peak today. We climb over the Vermunt glacier in the direction of the Obere Ochsenscharte. Before that, we turn south and climb as far as we can on the north-facing summit slope to the ski depot. Via the exposed summit ridge (II) we reach the summit of the Dreiländerspitze, which marks the border between Austria and Switzerland. Descent via the Vermunt glacier to the Wiesbadener Hütte.

Ski Tour Great Piz Buin, 3312 m
Classic high-altitude ski tour to the highest peak in Vorarlberg. First we climb through the Ochsental valley up to the rugged Ochsental glacier, which still impresses us with its ice towers. We continue across the glacier to the Buinlücke, 3054 m. Here we take a ski depot. Then we climb the 300-metre-high summit. Here we have to overcome a key passage of level II difficulty - secured by the ski guide's rope, no problem. Soon we reach the highest point and enjoy the view far into neighbouring Switzerland. Then we descend through the Ochsental valley to the reservoir.

- Clothes suitable for the mountains, a change of dry clothes, 1 litre of liquid, snack / muesli bar, a change of gloves.
- First aid kit with emergency blanket
- For the overnight stay in the hut: Thin hut sleeping bag, comfortable trousers for staying in the hut, toiletries in small travel sizes (toothbrush etc.), headlamp, Alpine Club ID if available, sufficient cash, chargers. Tip: Thin pack sacks or compression plastic bags help with organisation.
Important: Take only the essentials with you! The backpack should not weigh more than 10 kg.

Requirements
The Ski tours around the Wiesbadener Hütte are aimed at advanced ski tourers who can also manage easy climbing passages secured on the rope. We go on medium-difficulty ski tours with up to 1000 metres of altitude per day. You should be sure-footed in rocky, snow-covered terrain and free from vertigo. You should have solid ski touring experience.
