The Samnaun Group is the name given to the mountain range that separates the well-known holiday regions of Serfaus - Fiss - Ladis on one side and the Paznaun Valley on the other. On a fantastic Ski tour round with lift support we cross the Samnaun group in one day. Lonely valleys and impressive peaks await you!   

Guided ski tour in Serfaus - Fiss

The ski touring safari takes us from the ski area Serfaus - Fiss to Lake in Paznaun. From there, we either ski over one of the possible crossings or alternatively take the post bus/taxi back to Fiss. The ski touring safari is a wonderful experience for downhill-orientated ski tourers who are looking for new routes off the beaten track.

Meeting place: 08:30 Uhr Talstation Schönjochbahn in Fiss. Wir starten mit einem kurzen Safety Briefing und besprechen die geplante Tour. Gegen 15.30 Uhr sind wir wieder zurück in Fiss.

  • Backpack (approx. 25-35 l), if available ABS backpack
  • Suitable ski touring boots with walking function
  • Ski touring ski with binding and crampons
  • Fitting and well adhering clamping adhesive skins
  • Telescopic ski poles
  • Modern avalanche transceiver (avalanche transceiver, 3-antenna device) with new batteries*.
  • Avalanche probe and avalanche shovel (made of metal)*.
  • Helmet (recommended, not a must)
  • Clothes suitable for the mountains, a change of dry clothes, 1 litre of liquid, snack / muesli bar, a change of gloves. 

For high altitude ski tours with glacier climbing additionally:

  • Adapted crampons with frontal jaws* and ice axe (suitable for high altitude touring)
  • Harness*
  • 1x Safelock carabiner (or 2x screw carabiner)*.

The Ski Touring Safari is aimed at ski tourers and freeriders who already have off-piste experience. Safe descents in all types of snow and a solid ascent technique are the prerequisites. Pointed turns should not be a problem. You have enough stamina for a day tour of 5-6 hours with approx. 1.5 hours ascent.
