Ski tour on the Wildspitze for beginners
So that you as a beginner are prepared for the ski tour on the Wildspitze, we will make a first day together a preparation tour with easier climbing passages. In addition, we practise the hairpin bend on the flat glacier approach and walking with crampons on the summit ridge. This prepares you for the ski tour to the Wildspitze on the second day prepared. The normal route via the SW ridge is moderately difficult in terms of skiing, but there is a short climbing section at grade II to overcome - no problem if secured with a rope.
Programme Ski Tour Wildspitze
Treffpunkt: ca. 08:00 Uhr Glacier Express valley station Mittelberg
First we do a material check and discuss the schedule for the next two days. Then we take the Gletscherexpress up to the Pitztal Glacier Ski Area.
Preparation tour Rechter Fernerkogel 3300 m
The Rechte Fernerkogel is the optimal preparation for the Wildspitze. Over the moderately steep terrain of the Mittelbergferner we reach the ski depot on the SW ridge. From there, secured by rope, with crampons, we climb to the summit in moderately difficult terrain (I). The easy climbing terrain is ideal for getting used to the rock and walking on winter ridges.

High Altitude Ski Tour Wildspitze 3770 m
With the help of the Pitztal glacier cable car, we easily reach the Mittelbergjoch, where we leave the ski area. The normal route via the SW ridge is moderately difficult in terms of skiing, but there is a short climbing section at grade II to overcome - no problem if secured with a rope. The mighty descent with 2,000 metres of depth takes us over the imposing Taschachferner glacier past shimmering blue ice fractures.

Requirements
The two-day Wildspitze ski tour is designed for ski tourers with their first ski touring experience. You do not need to have any high altitude touring experience!
You should have already done a few easier ski tours. You can ski parallel in changing snow types off-piste. You also need to be free from giddiness and sufficiently fit for up to 800 metres of ascent at an altitude of over 3000 metres.
